I agree Drums By Slavo v1.0 is the best sounding drum soundfont. If someone has a better one let me know.

I think the snare has way too much reverb, and one of the keys has a clap sound where it shouldn't. The slavo drums have good potential, though. I converted a few Yellow Tools Pure drums giga kits to sf2, and yet I still don't like the sound sometimes.

That IS a cool drum font. I have always used ns_kit but its a collection of waves... So now I can just import drum midi's and use this. Learn something new everyday, thats cool. Thanks guys!
I use the bass soundfont from the same place, but dont see it there anymore. If you want to check it out, I'll upload it to my site.

Re: drums...
the wav files have to be used with a sequencer like Kontakt or Battery. For what it is worth - no soundfont is going to be able to touch NSkit simply because, once in a sequencer, you can apply fx to each drum/cymbal and mix it as you would a real kit. Obviously it requires a little more work but it is ultimately worth it.
Soundfonts are fine if you don't want to get anything other than a quick result. However the realism will nearly always be forfeited. Drums are nearly impossible to get sounding lifelike and require a lot of editing. Simply by dropping a SF into a midi will sound exactly like that. a quick fix.
Bass is slightly easier with a decent sampler but will still sound a little false unless youadd a little modulation and phrasing.
Then again I guess it is fine for a quick backer.

I use the ns kit in soundfont form, and have fooled drummers with recordings of it.
The secrete is to separate your drum tracks on different channels in the midi files, then record them to wave on separate tracks, then you can add FX individually.
I also add a little randomness to the velocity on the drums to make them sound more lifelike.
The same with bass, I have used that ns j-bass, if you vary the velocity a bit, and make the notes sound just like a 1/4 of a second or so off time it sounds much more natural.
