POD_GOD drum kit from hell
Here's the promised (from POD_GOD) drum from hell "a whole another thread."
I hope he sees this and enlightens us about it. All i know is it is on 9 DVDs ) but im curious to see if lets say "obtaiing" just one of the DVDs is sufficient to make backing tracks with fruity loops.

i have drumkit from hell superior and i use fl5 to sequence it. it works very very well and is so easy to use. why would you want to only install 1 of the 9 dvds?

Wrong!
Firs, i dont want to store/9 dvds -- why ?? no brainer -- I dont want to waste that much space. Then loading it will probably hog down my sistem -- the bigger. the loner it will take to load..
Anyway, maybe ill shoot for the regular, not the superior version

wrong about you "obtaining" them? Your word not mine.
As for slowing down your system - it won't (unless you don't have the disk space to comfortably handle it). All the program is is a hybrid of the Native Instruments front end. This comes as a stand alone and also a vst/dx instrument. The sheer volume of disk space is merely to store all the drum kits.
The regular version is merely a bunch of samples and has to be used with a third party sample program (it comes in Battery, HALion, DR008, LM4, Giga and EXS24 formats).
If you can find DFH Gold this also contains the front end and vsti/dxi.

Hey guitarport,
thanks for explanation, man. So basically the regular DHS not really worth it. Fine. Well the gold edition, or super whatever is the best one, either of them dont work like soundfonts , right. Because all i need/have time is to simply use a guitar pro midi and replace its drums and bass. THe drums soundfonts I have are not the greatest, so i was initially thinking of using drumkit from hell to replace the drums -- but like the sf2 way -- drag and drop. IF it invoves sampling and all thta other crap i dont know, and will take ome time, then i would not go for it.

it will work with FL but as I have never really had the patience to use fl I am afraid I can't help you there .. Sorry. Maybe PodGod can come up with a suitable solution for you.
Soundfonts are a fine solution though - I got quite a lot of mileage out of the Gold Drums SF kit until a few years ago and I bet that has been overtaken by better kits now.
Drums are a bit of a nightmare to reproduce well. Packages like DFH, Battery and BFD only begin to sound "real" when you start mixing them properly and treating them (with compression, reverb etc). Most drum applications also include a number of velocity layers which help with phrasing the playing - this is a must unless you like drum rolls that sound like a machine gun. Its fun learning but it isn't something that grasped overnight.
BTW - are you still looking for a "Come As You Are" BT. I have a pretty good one if you want it. PM me if you do.
