andrewtheshreddr vs dannyboy: ORIGINAL instrumental rock
hi again...
as in the title, its a battle of original rock instrumental composition.
this is a cheesy 80s sounding rock instrumental by the name of "the power of unity!"
i wrote and recorded it quite a long time ago so it sounds rather ..um...shall i say "immature" heheh...
anyways, good luck and have fun

Andrew-Woah, that is 80's! Interesting harmony throughout. Nice tone on the shreddy parts (was that tapped) however, the harmony seemed discordant at parts (which is cool if that is what you were going for). I think the soloing got a little to crazy for its own good around 3:00 although the key change was cool. Is that tapping at 2:05 (whatever is was, it was beautiful and I couldn't hear any pick attack). Cool song man.

Dannyboy-Nice harmonies, nice phrasing too. Good job instilling emotion within me. Beautiful tone (same as mine actually ), fluid playing, cool cross-fades, nice vibrato, the build up to 2:24 was most cool. I kind of wish there were a modulation in there somewhere, but other than that, most cool. The wah action at 3:10 was my favorite part. Good job.

Andrew-Would it be to much trouble if you tabbed out a line or two of that tapping stuff. I dig what you were doing at 2:05. If not, its cool.

Both of you guys... nice job!
Andrews definitely sounds 80's... almost like a Journey tune. Excellent harmonies, loved the slurs as well.
You know how people say that when you are playing heavy guitar lightly over a soft melody it sounds like an 80's porno soundtrack, in a funny way, that's what I get out of Danny's track. Although when it kicked in, I thought it sounded like an old White Snake tune! Then later on in the song, the riffage led me to believe it was EVH playing a porno soundtrack... i'm gonna vote on this one!

for the ulnarian:
regarding the legato tapping lick at 2:05... i recorded this tune soo long ago.. sorry cant really tab it note for note.. but i do remember it was an overlapping pentatonic thing... um.. take a normal pentatonic scale and tap a note higher to get the fluid sound
