Well to be honest I just can't decide. DB your tone and recording was much better and the playing was great. GROS-You sounded a lot more like Wengie.
What was the goal of this battle?

Hey Dannyboy, that was superb!! Great amount of killer chops everywere ...and a great control.
VHfanOU812: Thanks man. Its about to have fun with the old Vicking. Im not an Yngwie fan and im not very familiarized with his songs but i did my best.... and beliebe me, it was a hard work for me because im not a pro at all. Anyway, its great to have people playing this kind of music around the forum.
Thanks once more to everybody.

Well sounds like you guys are big Wengie fans....so if you have not seen him on that clip in Japan with the Philharmonic....you NEED to check it out. It's by far the best I have ever seen him play live....here it is.

BTW-I did vote for yours DB becasue I liked it better but with the disclaimer that I think Gros plays more like Wengie on this clip. Maybe I should have obstained from voting.

well if you voted for the one you preffered then thats all we asked of you mate . i thought i played quite a bit like Yngwie but perhaps on reflection not as much as GROS . im not a straight cover dude so if it came down to straight covers i would never win . i see it more of a chance to see how different people can put their own spin on someone elses song while maintaining the original enough so people know what it is ...
that link doesnt seem to work bro ... it just me or is it broken ? ...
thanks for the vote either way mate i appreciate it

I liked different aspects on each take. I vote for dannyboy for great all over take even though I would like a little bit of more emotion on some parts of the song. Gros did a marvellous job too, great technique but the tone IMO doesn't do justice to your playing [too "synthetic" solid state for my ears]. Congrats to you both

Both entries have their good points, so I just went for feeling, and voted dannyboy.

Im recording this song again....not for the battle but just for me. The bluesy tone i used was for a Hendrix song, and it was more a mic rehearsal than a recording. Then i saw the challenge and i accepted after i recorded this song for me. The backing track quality is very low, that doesnt help me that much. Anyway, Danny did a wonderfull 1st class rendition to Yngwie and he deserve to win. Im on my way tough

You know Gros? I told you before. I knew you could play very well, but i didnt know how much good you were. For me thats not a bad tone, just a diferent tone from the one we know as the Yngwie tone. Your playing was clean, without any distortion or delay unity to hide your mistakes..... and playing just with an amp overdrive.... you have balls to do it. Want a sugestion? that song is a classic, and i have heard tons of players screwing the arpegio chorus part. You already have that song, record that song once more with another tone (maybe a little more drive) but this time with the same patch that you are using on the mp3 of the month contest and ill bet you things are going to be diferent. I haver also a great BT of the song you might want to try. Killer work man.
Dannyboy: That was fuuuucking impressive!!! For me it was better than the Yngwie original song. You have a great technique, you need to upload more things like that. Rock on bro!! Im very impressed. Really.
This is a great, great battle wich im enjoying so much. My vote goes to.....
