Here goes Pride and Joy
Ok well here goes nuth'n. I love that texas blues.
I've only be playing for 9 months now so i'll probably be ass whooped but I'll get to listen to a really cool version from camel747 in the process
If anyone has a nice patch of the SRV sound for the PODxt please let me know. I want that sweet sounding distortion he had.
It was recorded with guitar tracks pro 3 and I think I hit too much strings here and there.

I'll save my vote until Camel checks in, but I gotta tell you, that for 9 months, that aint bad. Keep playing and practicing, you're on the right road.

And here is my humble version of the masterpiece....
EDIT: I deleted my version to make room for new stuff, but I'll be happy to mail it to anyone who wants to hear it.
My setup:
Custom strat with Kinmans
Pod xt (Marshall plexi 100 sim)
Custom 012' strings
Been playing now for 5.5 years.

Okay, Camel gets my vote, more in the pocket due to his experience, and I love the little Hideaway quote at about 2:40. Pier as I said earlier, for 9 months you were awesome, but you were up against a killer player with lots more experience.

Thanks for the kind words, Rythameen. I started pretty late with the guitarplaying, until I was 22 I never even looked at an instrument before, so I still feel a bit as though the guitar is not really my thing....
Being called a killer player really helps, though
It took me years to even begin considering attempting to play anything even remotely SRV-ish, so hats off for Pier!!

Nice one Camel! Hey is that guitar attached to your body?
Now you can battle rezamozaffarinia on scuttle buttin'!
Thanks all for your kind words. I will practice a lot. It's pretty difficult, especially the plectrum hand. It just won't listen to me!

Not quite attached, but I do sometimes see a strat-shaped indentation across my body. Not to mention the body-shaped indentation in my strat
by the way, I like your setup! Don't those strats strung up with 0.012's and tuned to Eb just rock?

Friggn awesome for only 9 months, man
Great job!
Still gotta listen to Camel's though.
It would be nice to have some challenges set up based on yrs of exp. That may be of some benefit for those whom don't have 10-20+ yrs under their belts as some of us do.
It is great, however, to see someone with less than a year under them playing like some guitarists whom have a few more years behind them.
