Actually, I told JEM I was out of town (leaving tonight) and not to post it until I returned later this week, so I could record it. I showed him a link to a different version I did in the covers and tributes just so he could hear it.


He posted a Battle with me and a link to that section, But That is cool and he meant no harm, probably just couldn't wait to get beat. I will use that version for THIS challenge anyway as it stands.

hey texas, i know this backing track is used 3 times allready, but you know what? who cares.... it's just a tool to play on, the original song is awesome but the thing we're trying to do here is something completely diffrent. No one is "competing" on the backing track, it's the approach that matters. so guys vote for me and for texas NOT FOR THE BACKING TRACK!

I don't care about the backing track being used again. That wasn't my point. It is a Great Backing track. I was just saying people already heard this song in a battle 2 other times and are liklley tired of it. Now my version is totally different than my last battle so that is COOL!

My REAL Point was I was going to record a new version for our battle (as I told you to wait until I was back in town) , but you just started a new battle anyway and linked my "Jacking around" version that I posted in the covers and tributes section. This version I just did 1/2 drunk at 1 in the morning with headphones while the wife slept (LOL) and posted in in covers to let people hear the different version.

It sounds good enough to me so we will go with it and I will not complain about the outcome. This will be my version...

Hell, this is the 2nd 'Rain' I've voted on today. Well, I've listened closely and I hear two guys trying to out-do each other! Which maybe takes away from the song somewhat for me.

Jem, yours was more relaxed and there were some really cool parts. I felt some of your bends and vibrato let you down but it was controlled. Tone was very nice.

Tex, yours sounds angry!!! Because I haven't heard the Vinnie Moore version, I'm guessing that it has fire with feel? I just feel you outdid yourself a little bit with the tapping runs. However your bends were more accurate to a degree. Tone was nice but a bit buzzy.

I'll have to play these two again... hang fire.

I've gotta go Jem because Tex's is just too busy and OTT for me. Close call tho.

fair enough, but if you heard my first version it was more mellow and melodic. This one was supposed to be more rockin and wild, which is why I posted it in the other section (covers and tributes) to let people hear me wail a bit more that on the oprginal battle. That is exactly what I said in the post over there too.That was the entire reason of this posted song originally.


Again, he started a battle and then went and linked my post in the cover and tributes section to this post, so I had no choice but to just post this version as I couldn't record another since I am out of town.

It is supposed to have some melodic passion mixed in with the aggression, but I respect your opinion and will deal with you on the In My Dreams Battle that we will have.
