Love to stomp on the old MXR flange for this classic. This was fun Lazer!

Both great VH covers but gotta be strat's for me. The playing was chunkier and I could hear the main riff better. Solo's were also closer.

Only one thing strat...I can hear a midi guitar solo underneath yours! Make the guitar louder to drown the bugger out!

Great battle guys. As so many other people I love this song because it's one of the few VH songs where I can play the entire thing, not just a riff or two
Anyway, you both did great on this, but I feel strat did a tad greater.
Oh and another thing... why didnt you use the backing with vocals? That one rocks!

Thanks for listening guys. I put together a guitar with a hard ash body for this post. Hard ash really makes that open G chord bite like hell but, the crisp tone is very hard to do leads with. Hey Lazer, how did you get Roth to do the vocals? I can't seem to get the levels up for these posts. My clips are always so faint. Actually there is something wrong with my MXR. I replaced the foot switch because the thing would cut out when ever I stomped on it. Now its doing it again. Made recording this track a bitch.

Hey ya did great work on this one... I'm not suprised at the voting trends on this one after I listened to yours!

I think your level was just fine on the clip... was loud and proud from what I heard...

I actually got the backing from another member... I asked around after I heard it on the Shoutcast station!

I'm gonna be in a world of hurt over this....both are REALLY good... I think Strat's got the effects a little better, but even Lazer said that.....and it's a little easier to hear his too since there's no vocal, but all in all a solid effort by both. Note for note, that's a tough call

Draw!

I'm gonna get shot...but I gotta go strat on this one...not on playing or skill...but he got ya on effects jonboy...but....we all know that'll get fixed tomorrow, right? Both played great....but even Lazer said that himself...I think he gotcha by a "hair" Laz...

Straty,
I had the same problem with my flanger, but two switches later it works great again. I'll be sad if this thing ever clonks out. I got it for $30. To find a vintage one nowadays it would be over $100 for sure.

It was fun doing this song Lazer! I get a big kick out of trying to make that main rythm work right with the echo. There is an A note tucked in between the time when the A minor is hit and when it echoes back. There were a couple spots where you and I did just that, and it sounded wicked!
Wow, I suspected this flanger might be worth allot. I bought mine back in 79. There are times when I can really get some cool effects from it but other times when it never gets there. Even in my clip here it sometimes hits its mark but mostly I did not quite catch it at the right flange curve.
