Little Wing Round #3--Rythameen vs wahwah
Okay, here is my entry, unfortunately something went really wrong, I made sure that the faders and the input weren't up too high, no clipping lights, nothing, but the intro has some really bad crud in it, no time to do it over, so I guess I'm just gonna let it ride and see what happens. Looking forward to yours wahwah.

Your playing is awesome RYTH.....but yep the VU's are overloading. You can actually get rid of a lot of it (not all) in adobe audition with the click/pop remover. By the end it seems to be fixed.
Can't wait for Wah's version.....but it takes him awhile to get the 192 takes before he's happy with one.

Wow this is great!
Not note for note, but when I listen to this I get just the same feeling as when I listen to the SRV version.
Just great! Too bad about the noise during the intro
Looking forward to hearing what wahwah's gonna bring. I bet its gonna be awesome as well.

Hy VHFan, Thanks for the kind words and the Audition tip, I ran it through there, and it did seem to lessen it somewhat. I re-upped so maybe I have a fighting chance now.

OK, here's mine. Spent an hour at the beginning of the week and then just went with it...no 192 takes this time! I tried to get the beginning similar and then winged the rest so it's prolly more SRV than Hendrix. I found a similar thing to Rythameen...it was hot and I spent a lot of time adjusting the volume pot on my strat while I was playing so as not to get too much distortion on the guitar which kills it dead.
Great song that I'll have to look at again in greater detail...think the PODxt got a decent tone tho...
Good luck Rythameen

fantastic takes guys,
rythameen, very good job filling a lot of space with your guitar on that quite backing track, your playing dynamics are just great.
chris , you have got a lot of emotions coming out of your guitar , something very hard to get ,your bends/vibrato is killer,
I'll keep listening and decide....you guys rocked this song.ps.i'm keeping both

Both of these were very good but This thing will not let me vote again... not sure why just tells me this:

Anyway for the record I think Rythameen was awesome.... :drunk:

Just got done listening to both of the entries there.
Nice job to you both. Each had some pretty nice tone going on there boys. It basicly comes down to this for me: Chris just sounded like he had more control than Rythameen. He commanded the song better and seemed to flow better also. So my vote goes to Chris.
But I enjoyed both very much.
BTW - Did you yell something into your guitar pickups at the end of your tune Wah? I could have sworn I heard something . .

Thanks mate...I think wahwah gives it that old rough edge...I even left some 'pup' buzz in.
