Both nice, but ultimately went with Ibanezlover. Hats off to both of you.

Great job to both of you. This is one of the Satch pieces I used to play so well a long long time ago.

One question... did either of you use a string dampener of some sort to prevent the open strings from ringing? And what did you use?

This is just a curiosity question cause I used to use an old sock...LMAO!
Not a dirty one mind you..

From my understanding , Joe used a dampener in the recording, but a rag or towel works just as well (or sock...or underwear...(preferably women's) ).

I thought it sounded as if some notes were ringing through. I have seen Joe play it live with and without a dampener, but the dampener really brings out the notes that you wish to be sounded and stifles any noise from open strings. Try tying a cloth or sock at the first fret below the headstock and note the difference when you play midnight.

I never used one either. Never really even thought about using one.
