Naifuzan vs Paper Bag - Pride & Joy
Hi guys! This is our little Pride & Joy battle.
I did this one as a quick little jam. The only part I know of this song is the intro. For the rythm I just tried to play something similar to what its supposed to be.
My strings are getting really old, the e-string is starting to sound really weak.
Hope you enjoy it anyway, and good luck to Paper Bag!

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, the vocals were part of the backing track. So that there is no confusion!

Thanks for the opportunity to battle with you ... I love your work.
I also improvised it ... I only (kind of) know the beginning. Single take ... but I think it's the first time my improvisation has run off into a world of its own, so I like it. (:
In the covers section I posted this as 64kbps I think ... this time I'll try it as 128kbps ... not sure if the quality will be any better.
Good luck!

Cool take ... I'd like to hear you do it without the lyrics (more you - less backing track). Either way, good work.

good job guys , the texas shuffle on this one is pretty hard to play , as far as the rhythm goes i think you both did a great job,
as far the improv. goes i have to go with naif ,i thing paperbag's got some really nice chops but naifs work was more focused and , he had some really nice turn-arounds.
ps.a bonus for both of you for playin' it LIVE, at the end of the day thats all that matters.

Great job to both of ya. Naifuzan, awesome tone, that nice raw feel to it.... Paper Bag, I don't know if it's because of the mix or what, but yours had a strange echoing, swirling thing going on, not bad, just not as raw as Naif's.... IMO

Thanks for the comment ... I agree that my improv lacks direction. (:
Good to know I have some nice chops. =P
I'm new to the texas shuffle thing ... but damn, it's fun to play.

Both of you gots way more feel in your improv than I do, glad this isn't my battle
I agree that naifuzan's soloing was more focused, so he (assuming the he is indeed a bloke ) gets my vote.
Paper Bag's got it goin' on as well, though! Cool stuff.

great cover you 2. love this texas shuffle you both got goin on. felt that Naifuzan's soundeda tad smoother,, and soloing sounded more matching to the tune to me in my opinion,, but yours surely rocked there paper bag. dam nice improvising you did . did like how you made it your own paper bag and went off in your own unique style. Naifuzan,, what can i say man,, your raunchy tone and playing,, since even old guitarbattle days.. have always loved. you always play a mean guitar man. had to give my vote to Naifuzan on this one.. great jammin you 2!

No feel. The texas shuffle wasn't there. you need swing and rhythm.

Thanks.
I wasn't going for a cover so much as just jamming to a great backing track of a song I love.
Two very different approaches in this battle I think. (:
Naifuzan rocks, there's no argument there.

I'm willing to try ... and thank you very much for the kind words. (:
I don't think I generally play that well ... I was in some other world during that recording. I hope it continues to happen ... or maybe I'm starting to improve a bit. Been a while since I've noticed anything change in my play ... maybe this is the start of it.
