A tad sloppy on the solo and out of tune with the backing track. I don't know if it's from improper bending or bad tuning, but watch out for it, Ozzyman.
Can't vote yet, we need to hear the other. Send me a PM when it's up so I don't forget.

Here it is!
Not my best attempt, but it is what it is. Did a bit of my own version and tried to keep in the spirit of the original. Sorry looked for your email last night... Just got home from work and there it was! Took the approach of Randy playing this solo if he was still alive in 2005.

Nice spin Culpster, yet true to form
Ozzyman, great job on the tone, and I am glad you went with the single solo version rather than the multi-tracked version
Personally, I deviate somewhat from the orginal recordings in the first place and enjoy hearing the twists that others put on their renditions, but excellent job to the both of you!

Excellen twork from both of you. Ozzy, you have improved a lot on this one.
My vote goes to Culpster for innovation, although I wish his mix was putting his guitar a bit louder for enjoyment.

Had a good listen to both and had to culpster ,
had the elements of the original and some cool extra added parts nice work ,
ozzyman yours had a really cool tone , but your going way out on some of those bends , just something that comes with time ..
nice work

Hello Mickeywiz!
Welcome to the boards, trying to get some tracks together for Don to sing on soon! Keep checking....Also check out the post in battles and listen to SS Ferrari schooling me on arpeggios...what a great tune he has for the battle!
Ozzyman527 I think your version is kick ##s. Don't count yourself out! You have a strong version and much closer to the tone that Randy used! Not an easy solo to do, then again is any Randy solo easy to do?

Heh, I didn't make the tone, but yea, I don't know what was going on, I just listened to it and it makes me cringe, I really missed the bends badly.

I hear ya!!!!
But did you have fun learning the solo and recording it? That's all that matters!
The guitar....item of greatest joy and frustration You think your having a good day and then someone rips a Jason Becker song out and plays it effortlessly and you want to throw your guitar in the garbage! I still always pick it out of the trash....I'm a glutten(sp?) for punishment.

Hey guys, nice job both of you, but my vote goes for culpster cause he seems to be more experienced and confident. Ozzy, is great that you self-criticize, that's the first thing to do in order to improve... and is the hardest. Practicing is the easy part, just repetitive routine until you nail that solo perfectly, I'm sure in a few weeks you'll do.

I'm close to doing that all the time, but I was just having an off day, I have played that solo better.
