Seq vs Chrisguitargod 'Classical Battle'
Ok guys something diferent now, let's hear your comments on classical style.
Mine was done while testing this virtual orchestra that really impressed me,and since I love Baroque y'know Vivaldi Teleman Scarlatti etc...i this came out.
Not that I want to show classical skills,I did this just for fun!
Hope you all like it
Thanks for this battle Chris,it wouldn't have thought about a thing like this.

i did this song today. everthing you hear is played on my guitar. with the exception of the basic drum sound running throughout. i was using the beat as a metronome at first but i kind of liked its simple nature so i left it in. i would say this peice is about 50% complete. as the lead guitar i put over it was a one take improv complete with improv mistakes. ive purposly avoided any shredding here as i dont want it to sound like malmsteen. just incase people are intrested i used a roland guitar synth. these thing sound great but are very difficult to play due to the nature of the midi pick up. i will hopfully have some time next week to finish the lead guitar . i hope you like it and can see where its going. thanx...chris .................................................. ......................................seq thats one awsome track you have there, you never fail to impress me, thanx for the battle

Sorry Chris, although that was a killer sounding tune, I had to go with Seq on this one because of the classical significance of it. If it were just a battle of tunes I would have went the other way, because Chris' was more my style. Great battle guys!!!

seq ....the sustained note was because i used a fernandes sutainer throghout the whole track, 90% of all the notes i played were not picked i was constantly using the whammy bar to give it that fretless sound that it has. the piano at the end was layerd i played the low notes on another track. i know i shouldnt have posted it quite yet as there is much work to do, but when its 100& finished ill be quite proud of it... thanx...chris

Chrisguitargod: I dont want to be mean, sorry, but that is not classical style. Maybe the neo-clasical metal style but not classical. The song is great and i think you could cut some heads with that song on another kind of battle, but not here.
Seq: that was good man. I think it was a little repetitive (not boring) but great overall. Got my vote.

Chris, this fernandes sustainer I assume is a pedal isn't it??
btw,I used Garritan Personal Orchesta (GPO) loaded in Kontakt, with a real theater ambience from SIR (convolution reverb).
verga, baroque is repetiitive, although a little shorter piece would've done it,glad you like it!!!
Thanks.

No, its a pickup. Vai uses this on many songs. He have a guitar with this pickup on the neck position (FLO).

seq.. its a magnet in the shape of a pickup. think of it like an ebow built in your guitar, for me its the most creative gadget ive ever used for a guitar. go to www.fernandesguitars.com and have a look of the demos there.

great job both , but seq had my vote ,
that is one absolutely awsome track i've been listening to it for the 4-5 time now it just keeps repeating and i dont want to stop it , i guess i can see trees and green hills , a shepherd, knights ....castles.......
seq, i always knew you are a good musician , but this level of work is just outstanding , the melodies ,,,,, hands down ,,,, absolutely moving.

Chris I really liked your song but as it was said before your song was not classical so I had to vote for seq. seq your song was pretty cool. It was a little repetitive but not too bad.

well clasical it may not be. but orchestal it is, i think i kind of thought orchesteral was clasical. am i wrong? and seq,s theme was meant to be repeditive, thats what that style of clasical does . we were just trying to do something a little different with this battle for fun.
