T.A.Z VS paulscape [Backing track jam battle]
Well this is going to be a white wash!! I haven't really had the time for the past couple of months to play and goin into a battle was probably not the best of ideas but what the hell. paul gave me the backer and I just tried widdling over it for a couple of minutes really, so nothing special from me.
Paul, dude yours rocked!! I can't stress enough how great that sounds, your tone is perfect and complimented wonderfully by your playing well done man!!
Anyway, here we go, please leave comments on this stuff!!

Yours is good too, interesting how we both hit similar notes and patterns at various points in the song. Cheers

I'm going with Paul's. His tone really fits the track. Taz's was great too, but his playing was more, like he says, widdling over the track, where Paul's was more coherent.
Anywayws, great battle guys!

Taz's harmonics and phrasing from 1:30 to 1:50 were outstanding to my ears. And towards the end your sound was cooking too. However, Paul's was really great to hear from start to end. The storm track at the begining was a nice touch. Paul's tone and mix with the BT sounded awesome on my system. I have to go with paul's on this one.
Thanks for the battle!

Well these are imo both awesome takes! Taz's chops and shredding licks are killer and so is his tone. Great job Taz, I wish I could just "widdle over a track" like that Paul's, what can I say, the tone is incredible and it pulls you in from the beginning and carries you right through to the end with just awesome phrasing and tone and like Stratomatic said the mix was great too......Great job, I could listen to both these tracks for hours (and I probably will)
Great job both of you .......... my vote goes to Paul!

Cool to hear you guys jamming to some blues!
Tough choice here, but I think I'm gonna go with paulscape.

I agree, It was fun and I learnt a lot playing over that BT - I usually jam over more traditional easy blues. Thanks for the comments!

Both of you guys rocked! I gonna have to go with Paulscape on this one. Your jam seemed really composed and I enjoyed all of it, especially that part with those catchy arpeggios. Was that just a one taker or what? Anyway great jamming from both of you. I learned alot from listening to your ideas . Peace

The shredder: Thanks mate -yes it was one take. I paused towards the end to hit the wah wah on and at the very end I overdubbed some end chords because noodling for 5 minutes I had no idea when the song was going to end. I also added a faint second guitar in the pause before the wah wah comes on.
Cheers
