Your a great songwriter Ulnarian. Your song reminded me the end of "Universal Mind" or "When the water break". The only complain i have against most of your song is that they tend to be small lenght clips and i finish like this:"...w-w-hat? is it over?. NooooOOooooo Gggggoooddd!!!!" But the quality is superb.

My song is CATARSIS. It was a song that came out from a jam with a friend. The original recording doesnt had any BASS on it, but our forum member Johnny1234 helped me out adding a great bass lines on it. Good Luck!

some great writing guys , both kicked ass.....

ulnarian , i think your song has a very cool feeling to it , i listened to most of your stuff on the page you linked above ,great stuff. your song is really fantastic but it would be much better if it was a bit longer,

verga, absolutely amazing , the only thing is that i couldnt really hear the guitars well , i had to adjust the volume a few times....the chorus /the bridge is awsome , hands down , very mature playing.

Levels

Whats with the levels on your song? Great palying Verga but the drums and bass are high, too loud compared to your guitars. I'd just like to know how long you've been playing. Uln your piece had great mixing, and I think this isn't just about playing, and being able to play, its how your song comes out and mixing does make it better. How long have you been playing? Nicely done, both of you. I'm going to have to wait and listen and wait and go away and then listen again if I'm going to vote. You're both good. Nicely done. Very Dream Theater like. Makes me want to pick up and play, maybe we could play something together sometime.

Style

Ok, I've decided and I'm going with style. Uln your music has that strangeness to it that guitarists have when they get too good and start experimenting. Its great. With Verga, thats more my style, I'm more of a rock, and I like funky things and I'm going to go for Verga. You guys are both good, and I almost don't want to vote. There's something inside me saying I should go for Uln but The intro on the song got me in. Nicely done, both of you. Both of you should win. I'd really like to play something with you both sometime.

Thx for the listen all, yeah my songs are kinda short. My mind wont let me build anything past 2 minutes for some reason...

Thx, for the mixing compliments. That means a lot as, prior to 6 months ago, I really didnt know the first thing about mixing. Actually, I've an article on mixing here in the home recording forum if you need a crash course in it.

I've been playing for about 11 years. Maybe 1 serious years out of those actually learning productive stuff.

Umm...dream theater and LTE huh?? Heh, thats a first time comparison. I suppose my music is kinda prog

Mr Pod-Yeah, I kinda like that part too. That part is actually me playing (somehwhat indaudibly) a hyper-picked G# arpeggio. Over the arpeggio I kinda just threw a cool little gratutious G# sweep pattern. Glad you liked it. My favorite part of the song is the one directly after that part.

thanks everybody. The reason why my guitar is mixed low is because....when i was recording the song my mic was facing the wall instead my amp And i never tough to record this song sometime later. It was an improvised jam that was evolving. Thanks guys.

Both were good.....However, Even with verga's mic turned away from the Amp... it grab me more than UL's.... But UL that was very creative.... Would have liked to have heard more of it.

A great big forehead slap to both of you

Thumbs down

Awesome playing...

You`re both really good...Both songs knocked me off my feet...

Ulnarian: Your piece souns really good, congrats on the mixing, great stuff...I like the strange vibe it sends out...it kinda has a weird sound to it.Really cool. It souns to me like the song of someone playing for years who`s geting all that knowledge out through this piece...showing off every second of it...IT SOUNDS GREAT! Good work!

Verga: Your piece got my vote. It got my vote not only cause it sounds great even though the mixing wasn`t verry good, but because it was built really proffesionally...a really catchy riff at the begining to enslave the listener to stay ears wide open the rest of the song and then progesivley tuned into the solos part...really Cool...Awesome work!

Congrats to both of you for two really great songs.

Keep Rocking!
