Journey (Help me choose!)
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get a Journey show for my girlfriend. She's a huge Journey fan, and I'm really not, so I don't know what the good songs are. Her favorite song is a two-part song, or something like that. But they're played together on the radio. Does that make sense? Anyways, is there a show available on here that contains that, as well as Faithfully and/or Lights? I did a search for Journey and there were 20 something pages of results. I figured I'd ask the masses before I looked through each one. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Firstly, i am presuming that it is a bootleg you are after?? Secondly, it really depends on which incarnation of Journey your girlfriend prefers? Does she like the original band through to 76, Steve Perry's era 77 through to 96, or Steve Augeri's era from 98 onwards? There are some very good bootlegs from all these incarnations, it just depends which one she would like and i am pretty sure that the Journey masses (myself included) on here will help you with Finding the right one.
Chris.

Thanks for the reply. She'd prefer something from the Steve Perry era, with the Steve Augeri era probably being her second preference. And yes, I am looking for a bootleg — I want something that she can't go out and buy in a store.

You need to find the Houston 1980 two disc bootleg show I posted because it is one of the finest performances by Steve Perry ever. In fact I may go and bump it up to make it easier to find.

I agree wholeheartedly with Terry regarding the 1980 Houston show. Its a superb show with an incredible performance from Perry. Others to consider (imo) would be East Troy 1981 or even Tokyo 1981. I say these two shows as the quality of the recordings are very good also.
They have all been posted on this site over the past few weeks or so.

I'm guessing you're referring to the songs "Feeling That Way" and "Anytime" from the "Infinity" album, Steve Perry's first album with the band. Those two songs, like "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" by Queen, are usually played back to back when they are on the radio.
Both of those songs include lead vocal trade-offs between Gregg Rolie, the original Journey lead singer, and Steve Perry. They are pretty good tunes and contain some very tasty solos by Neal Schon.

I could be wrong, but doesn't "Good Morning Girl" have a companion song, in which both were played consecutively? I can't remember what it was though...
