COMMENT
Incomplete, but the best video recording currently circulating as of December 2007 from any of the 21 main shows. Filmed from a similar position as the other two video recordings (25th August 2007 'Funky London' & 9th September 2007 '21 Nights In London 9th Sept') upper tier directly at the front, the view is completely unobstructed, clear and perfectly captures the stage from a great vantage point. Similar to the previous two recordings, they seem to have served as a trial run as the person recording seems adept at keeping up with Prince moving about the stage and knows when to point the camera and stay focused on The Twinz (the splits during 'Kiss', for example), or Shelby and Marva. Thankfully their competence also extends to keeping the camera steady with very minimal movement and certainly nothing at all similar to the wild flailing which plagued the previous two recordings - 25th August especially. The shaking/movement is still there on occasion, but it happens with far less frequency and up until 'Purple Rain', this really is a rather impressive piece of footage. With all good must come bad, and there are a number of fades during this recording which, whilst being minimal, are disappointing. 'Purple Rain' most notably suffers from a loss of picture, becomes audio-only for a few minutes, before reappearing towards the end of the song. Added to this the closing encore of 'A Love Bizarre / Chelsea Rogers' is also missing - but considering the quality of the camera work for the majority of the main show, it's a small price to pay not having the encore. As with the previous two recordings the audio leaves a lot to be desired, and whilst it's probably the best of the three video recordings, it's still frustratingly poor. So, to sum up - even with it's problems, this is still the best widely circulating video recording of Prince's summer stint. Fades, drop-outs, audio problems and pixellation issues aside, the camera work, vantage point, show content and performance are superb. Won't be to everyone's tastes, but look past the problems and enjoy it for what it is.
anyone got it??? theres no o2 videos on here at the moment, it would be brilliant to watch one of the shows
