Dire Straits - Money For Nothing by Naifuzan & JPF
Hi guys, here's my latest collab with JPF!
I found this pretty good backing track to this song and put a guitar track on it and sent it over to JPF.
I mostly played it from memory, so I'm not really that close to the original.
Anyway, John added his vocals, tweaked the track a bit with ozone 3 and made it all into a song!

Yes I did, it's the only way to do it right!
Even tho I didnt quite do it right, but you can't play this with a pick.
Actually I also thought it was pretty close, cause I hadnt heard the original in a while either. But it really isnt when you listen to both tunes after each other

I gotta say, every time this song comes on the radio... I blast it. Now I won't have to wait for it to come on the radio. Works out good, cause I prefer this version! Naif, guitars are in charge. The thing I like about the original is that the guitar has so much personality and presence in the song. Whether it was 100% on or not... that comes across huge, great playing. John.... I've told ya before, I'll hear songs and think... I bet John would sound great doing this tune. This wasn't one of em, but I didn't know this was dire strait song. One that I did think you would sound great doing is Sultan of Swing... I say after you catch up (probably got tons of stuff pending, LOL), I'd love to hear it somewhere down the line, Cause YOU KNOCKED THIS OUT OF THE PARK!!! Great to hear all that personality of yours in this... ROCKSTAR!!! in my book, both of ya's.

Whether it was 100% accurate or not... this comes across great, guitar parts are top notch with some great playing. This sounds fantastic, just a great cover, and a terrific collab!

Excellent work here! You have the same reverb, delayed sound as the original Naif...maye just running a little hot on the gain (I would think using the fingers for this requires some special skill to know the sound backwards so you can do the 'murmur to a wail' thing that you can with a plec?)
Vocals fit great, excellent as ever JPF...sounded to me like the J Geils Band covering this toon...bit more bouncy than the original?

Wow, all I can say in incredible!!! Hats off to the guitar work because there is no doubt that this is one of the most deceivingly difficult pieces to learn...seriously. The vocals were out of this world!
