Frank Zappa :Watermelon in Easter Hay :Bluesplayer

I was always a big Frank Zappa fan , his solo playing and voice always hit me on the spot . Here is my take on my favourite Zappa tune . I never went out my way to imitate Frank , thats something well beyond my abilities , this is just my little tribute to him .I hope if Franks up there listening to this he forgives me !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!..Hot rats,Sheik yer booty,Joes garage 1 & 2..all albums i dearly love from my youth...a lot of my mates were into metal & i kinda went towards this stuff..some thought i was weirdo!.. I loved it just for Frank's humour & superb time signatures & killer riffs..i'm still a sucker for a 5/4!..this kinda stuff led me into early Genesis/Steve hackett (Please god!.. not post Gabriel!) Yes (Steve Howe years) & eventually It Bites...well done Art..class shines thru mate!..weres me Kaftan & crushed velvet jacket!

Beautiful song, bro!!!! I've always thought that Zappa was a truly gifted musician/composer....but, somehow I never really listened to a lot of his stuff!! Even after one of our local boys back in Ohio moved on to play with Frank....his name was Adrian Belew.

I always think "Vai" when i hear Zappa, you can hear the Zappa roots in Vai's music too
The track was great though, excellent playing as usual, another first class song

Covering a Zappa tune in itself is a bold and ambitious move. Your playing on this fantastic, Art. I love the tone, it's simply gorgeous sounding. Top production all 'round - another one for the Saves folder. I enjoyed this immensely.

Thanks everybody , really cosmic ,and I'm glad you liked this one . If you can hear the original , you will hear Franks guitar with the cleanest of clean outaphase sounds , needless to say i got nowhere near that , so i dialled in my own . Playing to this timing was tricky , i kept wanting to start a new bar to early , it took some getting used to . anyway thank you truly !!!!!!!!!!

Oh man I´ve always loved this song! You did a great job on it, lovely piece! Just one thing, but it may be my speakers, I´m not sure, the mix sounded slightly clippy-treblish, but man, other than that, the guitar playing was VERY tasty! Another 5 here
