New to Writing Songs, Need Help.

Ok, I have been playing guitar and other intruments for quite sometime and everytime I try to write songs, I come up with muliple problems: I start writing and can't find a melody that fits it, when I write metal riffs I can't find anything better than a breakdown(again no melody).

I need help on how to write metal riffs that have melody but also can fit with a nice breakdown.

Any help will be appreciated.

Now I don't have much experience with metal, but I'm constantly writing and improving my own songs. One thing I learned is that in order to write good songs, you have to write terrible ones as well. This might not make sense but what I mean is you should complete a few not so great songs, even if they don't fit together. From that later on you'll find that one of those parts fits with something new you wrote, or works if you change it slightly. Basically it's all about experimenting and experiments aren't always successful
