Ok, I've Had It
Why have I had it? I'll tell you. I've always been against people downloading music that others had for sale. It's just a personal opinion, not an indictment on the cheap fuckers that want something for nothing. That's on them. I've always tried to do the right thing, if I liked it then I bought it. However, today they've hit a new low. On the way home from work I had Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione stuck in my head. Why that song? Not sure, don't know, don't care, it's not the point. It was there. So I decided to pop on ITunes, shell out the buck and buy the song, in other words do things the right way. Unfortunately, ITunes won't sell you that song individually, you have to buy the rest of the cd, which could be crap for all I know. Just because they call it a Greatest Hits doesn't mean the rest of it doesn't suck. (They will sell you the live version by itself, but it's the live version, who really cares?) So here I am, trying to stay on the up and up, do things the right way and they screw me. Fuck 'em, I found it somewhere else, for free, in about 11 seconds. They've made me an outlaw and I think I like it. We now return you to your normally scheduled programming.

LOL... Yep... by being greedy they turned a law abiding customer to the dark side. And that's the record industry for ya. They say they are tuning into consumer's downloading needs, but they have a long way to go.

If they were tuned into MY needs, right now I'd have a pizza and two red heads.

I feel te same way VM. I know artists spend loads of cash to produce a product and people should pay for it......but I also feel consumres deserve the right to see/hear what they are buying. Back in the day how many times did you hear a cool tune on the radio, shell out $8 for the record (minimum wage was $3 at the time), and every other song was filler?
Those small clips on CDnow are not enough to tell....so I usually DL about 5 songs on a new CD, listen to them a few times...then either delete or order the CD.
If it's a quality product.....I'll buy it everytime.

A good site would have a ...say $20 annual fee, download any song you want. 10 million users would be the goal and you would be happy. Very possible.

I'd steal a car and rob a bank--if I didn't get caught. It's not your fault they made a song unavailable or made you buy crap for one song. Why be a jerkoff (record companies) just cause you can?
