Bob Dylan 1961.11.04 New York, NY (SBD/FLAC)
Thanks to the original uploader at Hunger City. This is a portion of the remastered set that was requested. It is also an incomplete recording of that evening's performance.

BOB DYLAN

Back Pages remaster
The original Dylantree compilation was made by Phil M.
from "first generation sources" - see notes at end
It was remastered by Steve W. - see notes at end for more
on this and on lineage of this set
Disc 1
Carnegie Chapter Hall, November 4, 1961
01 - Pretty Peggy-O
02 - In The Pines
03 - Gospel Plow
04 - 1913 Massacre
05 - Backwater Blues
06 - Young But Daily Growing
07 - Fixin' To Die
08 - Brief Snippet Of Chatter
Carnegie Chapter Hall, New York City
==> November 4, 1961
Dylan's first New York "concert". The hall is an annex to Carnegie Hall.
Fifty-three people paid the $2 admission to see the show.
This is only seven of the fifteen songs performed that evening.
Lineage information: uncertain, but probably has lineage like
Remastered version > SHN > a couple CDR generations as SHN to me (no DAE?) >
WAV via mkwACT > fixed track boundaries on disc 2 with shntool > SHN via mkwACT
(SHN files have seek tables - SKT files - appended) > TLH > FLAC Level 8
Note that the MD5 values are not the same as for the original set because of
the use of shntool and the appending of the seek tables

Notes on the remastering, posted on the Dylantree trade forum (May 2002):
This is a gorgeous remastering of the Dylantree Early Dylan set.
As you may know, the dylantree version was flawed with "digital fuzz"
in many places, particularly on the Beecher tapes sections. The fuzz
is gone on the bprm. Other annoying extraneous noises have been removed,
as well as overlong dead spaces between tracks. No EQ changes have been
made to the original sound of the recordings. Levels have been normalized
to match up the varying sources. The overall effect is to turn the Dylantree
product into a two disc WOW! rather than a choppy collection of moldy old
stuff. It's never sounded better.
Steve W. has done a wonderful job with this set. I consider it well worth
getting it, even if you have the original dylantree set. Here is an additional
comment from Steve:
"I spent the better part of two days remastering the "Early Dylan" set because
it literally contained well over 1,000 separate digital glitches."
Truly a labor of love.

Notes on the original Dylantree set:
This set donated by Phil M. is an outstanding early Dylan (61/62) compilation.
This set includes tracks from Carnegie Chapter Hall (11-04-61).
The 11-04-61 show is a serious improvements from what most Dylan traders have access to.
Phil speculates that only a handful of traders around the world have these shows in this
quality. It is an unbelievable set. Another dylantree essential!
From Phil...
"The main purpose of this cd compilation is to give Dylan newbies
excellent sounding early soundboard material. Both 12-22-61 and 11-04-61 are
tremendous upgrades to anything that has been released on boot over the years."
