Thank you again, Edge, for yet another amazing upload. I have silvers of some of these discs and copies of several others but some of my copies had succumbed to CD rot so it's great to get this entire set - and lossless too! Also, thanks for the artwork, as the booklets contain lots of useful pieces of information related to these recordings.
The studio outtakes (2 discs worth of Darkness outtakes, 2 discs worth of River outtakes and 1 disc worth of Born in the USA outtakes) plus the Nebraska demos make this set worth the download. So many highlights: Protection, the original Roulette, the original The Promise, the original Drive All Night, the acoustic Born in the USA, Shut Out the Light with the extra verse, Glory Days with the extra verse, Sugarland, Follow That Dream, My Love Will Not Let You Down, Child Bride (which would later evolve into Workin' on the Highway), Losin' Kind, the rock version of Racing in the Street, Get That Feeling, Spanish Eyes, etc.
Some of the impact of this set has been blunted by the eventual release of Tracks, the bonus disc from The Essential Bruce Springsteen, and The Promise but it's hard to argue with hearing the original, undoctored versions of these songs transferred directly from the master tapes in largely spectacular sound quality.
