I'd say Winamp is probably the most common player for FLAC files but there are many others. As for burning, since FLAC is a lossless format you can make CD's of exact equal quality as the original silver discs, something you can't do with compressed MP3 files.
This answers my question about being able to put a FLAC file onto CDR, I'm assuming as a data disc since they would be much larger than 800MB. Will a newer DVD player/recorder play these FLAC burned discs so I can listen to them on my home stereo speakers? If this is the case I can understand why so many people are such sticklers for lossless. Thanks in advance for any help with any of these questions.
