I agree, the whole show lacked something we know Prince has to offer.

Empty Room live just doesn't have the impact it had when it was first being sung (like Celebration 2002 for example).

It's a shame because the setlist is pretty good.

I agree a bit on the above. Shame how he messes up Colonized Mind. But Spanish Castle Magic is a treat....decent show but i prefer the 28th aug 07 powertrio show.

That power trio aftershow is one that gets many plays in this house.

I really don't think it is the recording (althought the Prince, Josh and Cora boot is awesome), it's the energy that comes through. Now that was a recent, very good rendition of Empty Room.

Audio is OK, but not amazing...for me it's too far from the stage and the Bass is very low. Audience noise isin't that bad, but the show lacked something....dunno, just felt a bit flat and rushed, like he wanted to get to the next gig.

First time i heard that, when TB sent me the DATs...i cried, i really did. I was shocked and stunned, the audience were floored!, seriously, listen to the Celebration boots.

They audience are stunned into silence and many openly sigh and gasp!, i don't think that reaction will ever be replicated. Though i personally did a pretty good job when i was at the Dublin 2002 soundcheck when he played it, i started to weep then...sang all the lyrics right to Prince, he looked at me like i was a total loser!

I didn't know the song Empty Room until I heard it at Celebration 2002, but it's one that stuck in my head as soon as I heard it.

Where were you when you were singing it to Prince?

My bud and i were center stage, but Prince made us move a few seats to the right as he only likes hot girls in his direct line of sight....it's true!
