I'm having difficulty decoding some of the FLAC files for WHITOLOGY. Most decode to WAV files just fine, but the files for Tracks 12, 16, 17, 18, 23, 25 and 29 from Disc 1 fail with an error message. I've never had that happen before, even though I've decoded hundreds of FLAC files. The message I get is:

ERROR initializing decoder
init status = FLAC_STREAM_DECODER_INIT_STATUS_ERROR_OPENING_FILE
An error occurred opening the input file; it is likely that it does not exist or is not readable.

Obviously, the input file does exist, so the problem must be that it's not readable. Corrupt, possibly? (It doesn't matter whether I download the Rapidshare or the Megaupload files. Both return the error message.)

Fyi, Disc 2 decodes with no problem.

here are the files in question in case others also had a proble. Included are a md5, ffp, and a winrar recovery record so the problem should be solved.

Wish I could say it worked like a charm ... but it didn't. The FLAC files still won't decode, even though the MD5 checksum file seems to verify them as okay.

So I approached the problem from another direction: One at a time, I pulled each of the troublesome FLAC files individually into Audacity and exported it back out as a WAV file. It seems to have worked, so I'm a happy camper now.

I still have no idea what the problem was/is, but I appreciate your efforts at resolving it.

And thanks for posting the CDs in the first place. They're great!
