All in all this is a very impressive release . Things start off exceptionally well
with the opening Midnight Special clip from 1980. The quality of this 2 song set
(and the following American Bandstand) is extremely high - I'm floored at the clarity
and excellence of these two broadcasts considering their age. 'Saturday Night Live'
from 1981 is one of the low points of the release as the footage is slightly grainy
and the colour is very drained, however again considering it was originally broadcast
almost a quarter of a century ago, I really shouldn't complain too much.
The two separate Solid Gold appearances have been sourced from a much more recent
re-broadcast and as such the quality is far superior to the original recordings -
hence the new, improved quality versions appearing on here. The remainder of the
footage is pretty much above and real criticism from me and whilst a few have
the occasional flaw, there is nothing serious worthy of bitching about.
The release includes a few related artist bonus clips which are not listed on
the packaging but are listed on the menu's clearly. The menu's are impressive
and very inventive following on the NPG Music Club theme with nice song selection
and sub menu's.
These 2 files need to be joined using the hjsplit program
These 4 files need to be joined using the hjsplit program
Also these 4 files
finally these 4
the remaining menu files needed to burn the complete dvd :
Just cut and paste all the newly joined files and along with the individual files from
vts2 put them all into the vts folder , there should be 14 files in all , youre then ready
to burn the DVD .
The artwork for the dvd case is here :
I'll only do DVD downloads once every few weeks as theyre quite time consuming , my next one
could be either " The Gold Files" or "Mess Wit Yo Mind" , which would you prefer ?
