As I understand, Boxcar got cold feet after legal pressure from EPE, and the whole project is now cancelled... Which is a damn shame!
The 1977 footage should be put out one way or another, I think... The statement by EPE that they won't do that because the general public would ridicule Elvis even more (because of his bad state back then) can't be taken seriously from an organization also sells complete rubbish like Elvis-style Mr. Potatohead and other trashy items at Graceland...
Put it out on FTD, I'd say!

thats not stopped the bootleggers before.
somebody should put out the soundboards at least.
i dont want to see the footage.just want the soundboards.
the june 19/21,1977 arent good but other shows from the june tour are.
ep was nervious during the june 19/21 shows.
col pressured him to do the special.
knowing he was in bad health.
rumors that went around then the june footage was gonna be scrapped and the aug shows were gonna be filmed.
but nvr happened.
only reason elvis looked bad in the special way too much makeup on his face.
wasnt fat but bloated cause of a twisted colon.

i actually thought the june 19 & 21 show was good! the cbs special could have been better made thou more footage
and the definatly had to add Trying To Get To You & hawaiian wedding song
but i hope the whole set gonna be available coz i wanna see all |

Just Some correction:
On that concert - June, 24 1977 on the drums was Jerome Monroe (Sweet Inspirations drummer) not Larry Londin. It would be interesting to hear Jerome on drums on soundboard quality.

i wish they would officially release i mean come on maybe people will see the human side of elvis. everyones seen the legendary elvis from the 50's, the comeback elvis of 1960, 1968 and 1969. the world record shattering elvis of 1970-1973. whats wrong with seeing a worn out humble elvis still doing his best and accepting that he wasnt what he was and giving a hell ofa show singing better than he ever sang before. sure his classics werent the best at that time but the songs he loved to sing like hurt, trying to get to you, how great thou art , you gave me a mountain and unchained melody his voice was super and you can feel what he was feeling when he sang. people are being robbed of seeing the real elvis by epe. there is stuff we all know exist that epe wont ever release because they think itll hurt his image. hows elvis having a good time on songs and outtakes going to harm his image. most people i have talked to who arent elvis fans think he was a stiff and was stuck up and never talked to fans thanks to the releases that epe allowed out that was severely tampered with. if people got to hear the many faces of elvis they would love him. and if people got to see and hear elvis on his final tours they may actually respect all that he done in his not so great health and may even give him a standing ovation . elvis is america epe needs to get off their high horses and do the man who made them rich real justice instead of being selfish and selling the public crap like potao head or that freaken elvis duck cookie jar that does more damage to his image than anything. |
