Re: 4-Wheeler Blues & 4-Wheeler Blues(slight return)

First 4 wheeler blues:
Nice blues playing.
Production has some noise in the beginning which could be erases. Overal some noise is far in the background, like an old tape-deck is playing some music....
Again: abrupt ending.

Second 4 wheeler blues:
Based on the same background theme a different approach in sound and playing. Great!
Both noise-remarks from the first review will go on this review also!
And again an abrupt ending. That's too bad. Now there's still the feeling that I missed something.....

I have a lot of difficulties with the blues. All the feel and expression you could bring in.

And I thought you did a great job on these!!

Re: 4-Wheeler Blues & 4-Wheeler Blues(slight return)

yea, i'm just using one of those
Zoom PS-02(palm size studio jobs; still haven't quite figured the thing out completely. it uses a smart card and don't even think you can fade out the music-so it's just cheap production in my bedroom. thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot since this is the first time i've ever really let anyone hear me play. As I said, it's always been a hobby, never in a band, no lessons, a few unpaid gigs in handy park on Beale St. to help the old bluesmen fill their tip jars. Most are gone now-I did have a chance to play with Furry Lewis, though; that was a thrill.

i love slow laid back blues . i think you did pretty good on this one and it's quite difficult to make blues sound fresh and i think you did well share more !

as for your studio i love those little palmtop things ! when they first came out i really wanted to check one out but i guess i never really got round to it . i'd love something like that i can take around and just plug into if i have an idea .

what are they like ? easy to use ? sounds like you got a pretty good mix/sound out of it ...

well, you need to send it to an amp to hear what you are recording--i've never used the built-in microphone--they ran $350 when they came out, but I've seen them on ebay lately for $200. You do have to buy more memory than the 8mg samrt card that comes with it-I bougt 128mb for about $50 online--circuit city and those places are double that.
I also bought a smart card reader, although you don't have to have one to upload to your computer. The reader takes each track separately to the computer, so you really need somthing like cakewalk(which i don't have) to get the recording like you want it.

I love the tone on these tunes. I could listen to this sort of stuff all day, it's great. Man, I need to get off my lazy arse and have a go at this. No matter how good or crap each person is at it, it's great fun to play / listen to !

And this stuff is real great lazy blues. Tonnes of feel. Thanks for sharing !
