Daemon, I like the
chord progression and the solo playing generally, but feel that tone-wise, the two guitars don't work the way they should.
You may also be a bit out of tune.
The accoustic is recorded very close, with that intimate sound, while the solo is full of reverb and more distant. Maybe the two should meet in the middle somewhere. If you can apply some chorus and a short delay to the accoustic guitar part, you may get a better unity between the two guitars and fill the space.
The solo tone is good, but may have excessive drive at times. Try backing off the distortion a bit or work the EQ to take off the booming sounds when you hit lower notes.
I'm no expert but I've done recordings a bit like this one and faced chalenges. This is what works for me. I hope you don't think I'm lecturing, but I'd rather share my true thoughts than praise people unconditionnaly, as it doesn't give them a chance to hear others' views.
Cheers!
