Maybe you can try to get your hands on the POD Pro XT. It has the early VH tone to near perfection. It's scary! You can play Eruption and feel like it's 1978 again. I heard their mp3 sample online and it knocked me out of my chair!
Wahwah, I hear a lot of shit being said about modeling technology. It seems to hurt tube purists to think that their magic tone can be reproduced by lowly electronic-age equipment.
I don't see it that way. To me the holly grail is still real, valve amps, but I just can't afford to buy a
Marshall stack, a Soldano, a Fender Twin and a Vox, A Buddah, a Cheiftan, and all that other crap and stuff it into my garage.
Modeling technology helps us get a wide palet of decent tones out of affordable gear and I feel that modeling is good enough for those of us who are not pros and still want cool tone.
I'm not a touring musician, just a living room hack, I'll stick to Line 6 ans what it has to offer.
Thanks again for the feedback. I'm glad I got you fooled!
