Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizHere's a new mp3 for your poor ears...
It's an idea for a song that I want to develop. It needs work but I like its obnoxious vibe. |

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizLol at your "obnoxious vibe" comment. This is one of those tunes that is made because of a good backbone supporting it. You are one of the musical types here...you plug it into a mixing program yet? I am curious to hear what you imagine behind it. Especially during the tempt change.
Cool stuff! -Trip |

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizThanks for the compliment, Trip and Eric.
I'll probably run this riffage through the guys at the next jam on thursday and see what they come up with. In the meantime I just bought a drum machine so I'll try to work something out. |

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizFirst off, greetings... I'm new here. I think the track you put down was great. It reminded me of a mix of many different bands. Kind of Dokken'ish, or Hocus Pocus by Focus to name a few. A bit dark (not a bad thing), and a great groove!

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizAgreed with Cetla - I can hear some George Lynch influence. Good stuff, CC.

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizI never though of it this way, but now that you mention it...
Funny how our influences aren't always concious, but end up surfacing in our playing anyway... Check out my other mp3 posted today. I had fun with that one too! I'm running it by my mates on thursday night during our jam session. We'll see how it turns out... |

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizHi CC,
I love this tune. It stands up on it's own just the guitar. Hope you manage to have fun working with this one, and I don't see how you couldn't. It was a pleasure on the ears to listen to, a real breeze. I was reminded of Van Halen's Hear ABout It Later, as well as Iron Maiden's Running Silent. I kept expecting it to change tempo with mega picking runs all of a sudden... |

Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of Noiz[ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ] LOL! I'm assuming that was a sarcastic "Thanks". Dude, one of the first people that heard my "Rumpshake" said it was totally 80's. I was like "duh, it was meant to have that sound... I doubt sIN meant anything by that. Anybody that's expecting me to crank something out with an N-Sync or Blink-182 feel to it just so that it sound more current is in for a big letdown, lemme tell ya. Re: Canyon Carver\'s Wall Of NoizI didn't try to go this or that way. I just play what sounds good to me and makes me happy.
I wish I had the musical proficiency to play intricate runs of progressive metal like Symphony X or Dream Theater. I'm working on that, and that is what's current to me... Not Blink Dickwad. |

[/ QUOTE ] ya know this could use a real good vibe type solo over the top of it, and BTW it sounds like STYX in the 70's type of thing to me, there is a part that sounds like the guitar break in "Madam Blue" and the tone said early STYX to my ears. Rol. |
