Don't Do It
Ok - this is really unfinished but I kind of like the feel. I am due to replace the vocals on it and the final solo and a bit more mixing is required on some of the guitars but it is a pretty cool song.

This has the "Goport" signature and is nothing but high quality song writing. It's good to hear a new original from you Porty. I'd really love to see your material get shopped around. You're a pro in my book. This is fantastic.

Thank you Linda and Wigrocks! this is only 60% done at the moment. I will finish it in the next few weeks and repost (some stunningly bad singing on here and the solo is a one take drunken flurry ). I am honoured and flattered that you rate my songs.

Wow!! where should i start??? This is an amazing production and an outstanding performance: the vocal work is very elaborate, is pretty difficult to do, so hats to you, the timing in it is perfect. The song is beautiful, the melody great, inviting and catchy, for a moment i thought i was in a caribbean beach with those effects ... i really like this song the way it is..don't change it!!
ahh yeah, Goport: you've got a beautiful voice!!!!

Porty,
As usual your musical prowless is inpecable! You know it isn't hard rock or metal but dang it has some good qualities. The production is excellent, your lead guitar work is great, the bass thumps, and your vox are right on. If I could have one talent besides blazing guitar speed it would be to have your ability to put together such wonderful tracks of music.

Goport, this is STUNNING!!!! ...... I dont know how much more you could possibly do with this, only in your head my friend!!! IMO, it has your definite sig, that very eclectic blend of rythyms and story, lovely production, eveything so bright and crisp, as well as your playing, just sublime!!! And stop with the downers on the vox already!!! Nobody can do that Brit talk/sing type thing like you ..... Like the best of Pet Sounds meets the best of Bowie, not to shabby bro, not at all!!!

Dont really know what to say about this track , its like in the wrong place ! it should be in the mainstream pop charts . It really is that good .Its complex arrangement is stunning but more importantly it has an instant catchy hook that has you humming along .and to think you created all this from nothing , your a bloody guru dude . the tune evokes thoughts and feelings ,a bit like early 10 ccs "im not in love " . I thought your last tune was superb , but this is just taking the piss ! Goport this is one stunner of a track , and i only hope you dont forget us when your hitting the big time ! Stunning .

Thank you cormack - that is exactly what I was going for easy listening/pop. I never lose hope in the fact there can be good pop songs

Arrrgh! this is too much!! so many nice things to answer and I am getting a little lost for words. Art, coming from you this really means a lot. 10cc, you got it right there, I wanted an open love song about a secret tryst and just developed it from there. I thought it would be fun to make it a relationship between 2 people that work together and the only chance they get to be together is when they lie to their families about attending a conference or something. It just seemed like a novel approach at the time. I need to replace the verse I stole out of Burt Bacherachs Walk on By though
Many, Many thanks for your reply art

Very interesting!
I love the background music in the very beginning and at the other breaks. What kind of Bass guitar is that? Computer or real? Sounds real but I'm not sure. The tune might be mixed a little bit on the treble side for my tastes but I can EQ it out with my Winamp so it's really no big deal. (Some of my tunes are trebly too) The "Whale Type Moans" are a cool effect - I assume that was geetar. Like at 3:44 and on to 3:28. Love that shit dood! Nice job!
Of course as usual you are very commerical sounding with the vocals and great production. The vocal work here stands out man - love the harmonies. Is that actually a "rap" you start doing in here to????????? OMG! And disco guitars! Trippy man.
You did a cool solo too and I like that aspect this time. Totaly fine tone with it and you actually fly pretty good! It started out Disco and I was scared for you at first But then it worked pretty good. More guitar work going on this time which is kick ass for my ears. I like that a lot.
It's simple man - your a songwriter. It's easy to see. Get a job dood! Why waste your time trying to impress us? Waste your time trying to impress Warner Brothers, or MCA ect. When you get a job there, put in a good word for us out here eh?
