Re: Heavy

i like the riff it's pretty cool ...

i'd add a bit more variety in the drums . .that's my only complaint .. .some fills .. and even some spaces to create tension would make this tune awesome

still , awesome playing mate !

Re: Heavy

Yeah you are right man, I just used a looped track and my timing is a bit off in places. It's so much work to edit drum tracks and add fills though LOL.

Re: Heavy

hehe don't worry i know !

i think it's about 99% of the reason i don't record very often .. it's such a apain in the ass ..and most of my songs are made up of random riffs and i just can't be bothered working out some kinda structure with a drum beat ! hehehe

Re: Heavy

I think almost everything is already said!

I wanted to add that I like the chordwork!

About variety in the drums: Listen to "Not of this Earth" from Satch and you'll find some monotonous drums on it......

Production tips: I would cut the MP3 a little shorter, so that all the endnoise wasn't on it.... And the noise in the beginning, while you are waiting for the first thing to play. That could also be erased.

Re: Heavy

Eric, that's a good riff.
This is a good start. I'd love to hear a developed version of it with fills.
I know exactly what you go through with the drum machine.
I struggle with mine all the time so it doesn't sound too automatic, ah ah ah!

Re: Heavy

Thanks guys, I am going to download that link that CC posted up and see how that works. I like the idea of playing my own drum parts and it will much easier for me that way.

Re: Heavy

Cool tune. I like the riffing within it,

I agree with the drums, but I also can't be arsed to fart around with Cool Edie to put all the drums in. I don't know how people have the patience to do so.

But I must have a look/listen to this link that CC has put up. Sounds intriguing...

Great work, once again !

Re: Heavy

Thanks man, yeah I tuned the low E down to D. I wish I had some real gear so I could get a heavier dry tone out of it.
