Help Sling Shot & Family – Call for all original G101 artists! - Guitars101

We looked into trying to get a collection of “Sling Shots” catalog on a special page on Soundclick where you could purchase a copy of your favorite “Slingy” cover, performed by Ted “Sling Shot” Bieri (all proceeds to be donated to Ted Bieri and his family, via a PayPal account). Unfortunately, as a lot of Ted’s contributions are covers, making money (despite the cause) could not be done without potential legal issues. So as an alternative effort, we’re asking our members to donate any original material they might be inclined to offer for the purpose of being put on a Soundclick page, where all purchases of the songs will be donated to a Pay Pal account for Ted and his family. We’ve already uploaded several incredible pieces done by Ted himself, or by Ted and his very talented wife Tammy. If you’d like one of your works added, you can PM Wigrocks and/or Supercharged 350, and we will get your music added to this Soundclick page as quickly as possible. The idea at that point is to get the word out and let people know about your song and this page. For a very small fee of .99¢, listeners will be adding another great original song to their mp3 library, as well as helping out a talented and well respected G101 member, and his family, through a very difficult time. Thanks a ton Porty!!! Picking is quite the tough call... I think I will defer to Sling Shot and let him choose his favorite.

I also want to make a note to anyone else reading... Due to the nature of Soundclick, they don't allow one song to exist on two different soundclick pages. Supercharged 350 and I tried to upload the Virtual Chaos catalog there, and they ended up closing the first page we tried to build. So, we have set our page up to allow people to purchase any of our songs, all proceeds will go to Ted's PayPal account.

I appreciate that bleedingpinky, but it's probably more credit than I deserve. I guess the saying is true, "Neccessity is the mother of invention". I'm in the process of buying a house on Long Island (one of the most expensive places to live in the US, but it's home). Every penny counts right now. This was the only thing I could come up with to support and offer some help to a respected member, talented musician and great friend. I really wish more came to mind.

The real mark will be encouraging people to get over to the site's to buy some music.
