homeunit Original[ QUOTE ]
Stiglar said: that's pretty cool homeunit ! do you write your own stuff ? [/ QUOTE ] That's mostly all I do musically, I'm the worst at covers. Here's something a did a little while ago. The solo is a one pass wing it thing so there are some mistakes. I think it's around 6 megs. Attachment |

Re: Feelin about saying hi!I don't normally mess with posts but this tune deserved to be busted out into it's own thread. This is a very impressive hard hitting song dude

Re: Feelin about saying hi!Thanks guys! That was one that was entirely inspired by the drum groove. I had my buddy’s SR16 and was going through the presets and happened upon that one. I was using my 4 track as a monitor, hit record and riffed out.

homeunit said: That was one that was entirely inspired by the drum groove. [/ QUOTE ] I can't tell you how many times the drum groove is what starts a new tune for me. I guess it just sets the mood for me when I hear a pattern in my head and I go from there. I rarely block out chords as the first step for the basis of my tunes. Matter of fact, if I can get the tune I'm currently working on finished this week, you'll see what i am talking about when it comes to being inspired by the drum track. |

Re: Feelin about saying hi!You're killing me, Homey!
The bass sounds great, I like how it underlines the song, with this aggressive chunky sound. The guitars sound huge and really fill the air. Are these real drums or samples, machine? Again I really like the bass. It has a lot of identity, something that sometimes is missing. |

Re: homeunit OriginalI heard both of these at the vhforums. The sheer speed of playing on Slop Guitar is mental (compared to my technical level anyway) and the sheer power of Dreams is awesome. Both seem really heavy to me, and I like this...
I must apologise to homeunit. They were once hosted at my site, but then everything screwed up, and I had to take them down, intially only temporarily, and I never got round to putting them back up. Great stuff though ! A plethora of laying styles, I really can only |

I tracked it originaly just with the Sans Amp but it needed some grind, so I used the Pod! |

Re: Feelin about saying hi!Unbelieve I didn't listen to these first. WAW, what nice diggable songs.....
I just love the sweep picking stuff on the first one. Amazing. And a nice dirty bass on the 2nd one.... A real wild dream! And both songs keep interesting from beginning to end.... Homeunit, a big thumb to you!!! A little but.... You could have erased the noise in the beginning, while the guitars aren't playing. That would made the slam even harder when the guitars come in! Just a little but.... |
