Old Songs

I dunno if you guys have ever heard these ones...

They are very old ones. Ideas I've had in my head for feckin' ages now. I recorded them with me going straight through the pedal into the soundcard and using the Windows Sound Recorder.

<ul type="square">[*] 7ths [*] Happy [*] Indian [*] Rain [*] Shaker [*] Tapbends
They're all pretty basic and crap to be honest, and at some time I will get round to developing these a lot further. But until then, I leave them in their raw format...

I really do personally like Indian, Heavy, and Shaker.

I just need to sit down and figure out what to do with them, because they even sound really basic to me !!! I just don't know where to go with the ideas....

Re: Old Songs

You need to keep these files for reference.
Listen to them once in a while, or when you're wondering why you take lessons.
They're a great indicator of where you're at in your playing.

Yeah,

I guess so. I'm not gonna get rid of them, but they could definitely do with a redo in Cool Edit Pro, rather than the Windows Sound Recorder...

Did you put down an amp or sound precessor on your wedding list?

LOL! There's a new way to get gear - get married !! I can see it now - *please note that the groom is registered at The Guitar Center in Hollywood*

Seriously -

Dave, there's nothing wrong with posting stuff like that. You have some good riffs and ideas to build on. Everything starts with an idea, and you don't need to have a full-blown song available to get feedback on. I like the riff for "Indian" myself - I think you could develop that well over a backing track for a cool tune.

Re: Old Songs

Hee hee hee !!! I would love to have put something like that on the wedding list !

Cheers for the comments. I know there is nothing wrong with posting this stuff. What is bugging me is that I haven't got off my lazy arse to develop any ideas any further !

But hopefully, once the wedding is out of the way (what a bad way to put it), I will have more time on my hands.

You guys have really inspired me though. I can see what can be done with multitracking, so I know it is possible. It is just a case of doing it...
