Re: Sappy
Hey Stiglar...
I enjoyed that a lot..you certainly have a lot of jazz influence, nice lines...your playing on this one has a " Steely Dan" kinda tone, bridge pickup, dry signal...I like that !
Cheers !

Re: Sappy
Some times I miss these posts, glad you bumped it. Nice take, I agree with YYZ that it sounds nice and crispy dude and you have a unique style with it.
I did a track to this song as well a while back too Here

Re: Sappy
I missed it too...I know how you feel when you put the work in and nobody comments-we need to be heard to keep playing. GREAT first note! I don't mean that was it (LOL) but the first note was a doozy follwed by a heap of other good ones... I'm losing this! Stig, do me a favour and see if you can find a live version of a song called 'Adventures in A Yorkshire Landscape' by Be Bop Deluxe. One of the finest guitarists EVER in the UK (Bill Nelson) and you might be suprised that some of your runs are similar to him. If you do get to hear it, I promise you'll want to hear more. HAD to use the new face!

Re: Sappy
Very nice work, Stig!
Making a harmonious melody isn't a given for everybody. You pulled if off very well I thing.
The tone is a bit harsh in my opinion. Is it done with a single coil pickup? There's something a bit "solid state” about the tone that I feel could be improved.
At times when you pull a note, it doesn't get quite there and sounds a bit off (I wrote the book on claming up pulls, so please don't be offended by this comment).

Re: Sappy
thanks guys !
i'll check out the be bop deluxe song your talking about wahwah ! oh and i like the first note too !
CC .. haha nah i'm not offended i like to hear some feedback that i can improve on ! ... i'll agree the tone is a little harsh it was done on a humbucker and i switched humbuckers halfway through.. i think part of it is my microphone things always sound so nice and fat until i record them .. but also i haven't really had a good chance to mess with the new pedal yet so i'll definately work on that thanks ! ..
as for the pull ups tell me about it ! hehe and especially in a slow song like that they really stick out so i might sit down and do some practice on them today,

Re: Sappy
I am just catching up on some of these...but I though the feel was very cool. I agree with the above post that it sounded very thin (almost small SS combo like), but that can easily be fixed post recording....for the most part.
And sorry for being from Texas....but what the hell does "arvo" mean?

Re: Sappy
I love your note selection. It has a nice free flowing open lead groove which I love. The only thing I could possibly say would be to add a tad bit of reverb or delay to get a "wetter" tone. I think your playing is fantasic.
