Strait Out

Hey Guys ,

I realised the other day i haven't posted anything original for a while so i put this one together yesterday , i've had the ideas floating around for a long time now .. and i finally put it together , i didn't have my music man or any of my pedals available , so i took the oppotunity to try some different instruments i don't normally use .. . on this track the most of it is my fender steel string acoustic and my epiphone les paul in parts ,

it's definately not finished yet , it needs some serious mixing in places and some re recordings that i stuffed up , but you get the idea hehe if you crank up your speakers you can hear me counting and making noise at one point it's pretty funny , it gets pretty cluttered during the chorus so i'll try and fix that up later

i'm going to chuck a solo on at the end in that empty area once i get the rest of my gear back ,

but still here it is so far , it was interesting using acoustic guitar to solo for a change gave a really different vibe !

Oh yeah and before anyone points it out i spelt strait like that because the song reminded me of dire straits for some reason, don't ask me why !

Strait

Rich

oh yeah and remember be honest with the comments !

Re: Strait Out

You know I really like your style, it's different from the norm (like mine) heavy stuff. It's very jazzy and snappy and I enjoy listening to it, you are making nice use of the accoustic too, you are braver than I this is progressive and has some great chord changes in it, nice work dude.

Also, don't feel like you need to shred it up with a solo if you don't want to, it's a very nice tune as it is. That's something I would do because I couldn't be quite as creative or progressive Nothing like a shredder to butcher a perfeectly good song when you can't find the chords

Re: Strait Out

thanks for the comments eric !

i'll admit it took me a fair few goes to get the acoustic soloing right , so don't think it was spontaneously easy for me hehehe

you guys should all try this (picking up an acoustic for a solo) it totally changed the way i thought about soloing made me think quite differently !

and don't worry i'll try not to shred it out at the end i'll try and be as tasteful as i can hehehe

Re: Strait Out

Very nice. Great playing and making it a nice stereo mix.

I thought more of Al diMeola...... More Al than Dire Straits!!

Anyway, great!

Re: Strait Out

Man Stiglar, you can play. That's beautiful. I really enjoyed it, plus, I wish I could play like this.

But it might have something to do with me only knowing A Minor, G major and C....

Nah, that can't be it !

Re: Strait Out

thanks guys !

i owe that riff all to the fact that i purchased a new capo .. i hadn't used one for ages, bought a new one stuck it on the third fret and that riff just came right out ! .. if you ever feel like your in a rut buy a capo everything sounds better at the third or 5th fret!

i'm gonan finish it up in the next couple of days .. i'm getting the rest of my gear back soon

thanks again !
