Tone Opinion on this Improv
(For updated version with more guitar layers, see my next post with attachment)
Here's an improv in D minor I did today to see if my rythm and lead tones are compatible. My vision is pretty blurred at this point from playing it on my own.
What do think or suggest about these two tone combinations?

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
Wait, here's a new version on the same exercise with 2 more guitars this time:
Hard left is a Marshall with the Wolfgang set on both pickups, playing the chords at the nut
Hard right is the same Marshall amp, playing the chords in a different position on the neck, toward the 12th fret.
Panned hard left and panned hard right is the walking melody, with a clean tone and a little flanging from my Boss Flanger.
In the midlle is the Recto setting (solo part) with delay and some reverb.

I like it, the tones are very good as well as the playing, it feels like something I'd come up with so it's right up my alley

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
Thanks Rol.
I tried to do multi-tracking without making it sound muddy from too many tracks.
Looks like when you keep the tone fairly clean on most of the tracks it doesn't muck it up too much. Separating the tracks by panning also seems to help.
I'm just trying to learn a bit of recording stuff so any help is welcome.
BTW I didn't know you were at NAMM . I got pretty lonely there yesterday. Wish we had hooked up but my visit was really last minute...

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
Funny, I had no idea.
For some reason I know nothing about this band, aside from something I may have heard on the radio...

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
If anything I guess I would have been influenced by Zakk Wylde's Book Of Shadows double CD.

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
man, it's got a nice "lazy" feel to it... in that it's almost relaxing and soulful... lots of emotion...
all good!!! you've taken me to my "happy place"!!!

Re: Tone Opinion on this Improv
Great stuff CC ! I really enjoyed it.
It reminded me of Boston's - More Than A Feeling.
I don't know if that's an insult to you or not, but it's not meant to be.
Good work !!!
