Video Soundtrack

Hey gang. Just digging through some folders on my hard drive and came across this recording (done about 4 or 5 years ago, before my old 350Mhz G3 Mac became an ancient relic of technology). For my final credits to graduate college, I took a video production class and got to use Media100 software program (this took place at Kansas University, hometown ofA Koo Stick who probably recognizes this tune from my video project). The assignment was for someone in the class to "jack around" in one of the audio programs and come up with a "soundtrack" that was 2-3 minutes in length and could be absolutely anything. So I obviously jumped at that opportunity and volunteered myself to make the "soundtrack." So then, everyone was to make video interpretations of the one soundtrack. So, this was a really interesting thing to me because I got to see 6 people's visual interpretation of the music i made up. Some really differnt interpretation came of this. As soon as I can figure out some video stuff on the computer, I will post my video to this music, but this will do for now...

Ok, real quick, here's the scoop with this: The first half of the song is composed of cut/copy/paste jobs of the second half (in the middle of the song if fades to silence and then comes back in again. This break splits the tune into 2 halves). I took splices of the second half of the tune and re-ordered them to make the first half of the tune. Then I added keyboard stuff over the new song structure. Anyway, this is all me. I programmed the drum line from scratch on my drum machine (remember those?!? ) and played the bassline on my keyboard (this was before i got my bass). I hope to revisit this tune real soon.

Thank you Rhythameen. I appreciate you having a listen. I get the impression that, for you, listening to people's posts is a ritual similar to a person's morning coffee.

This is one of the first recordings I assembled via digital methods. I did it in SoundEdit 16 on my old 350Mhz G3 Mac . It is basically like CoolEdit, with the exception that you cannot listen to previously recorded tracks while recording additional ones. Therefore I had to record everything on my 4-track cassette machine and transfer it to the computer as individual tracks and visually line them up based on the wave peaks. So glad I have new equipment these days.

Thanks for the comment. I will let you know when I rework this.

its a cool atmospheric piece. I sensed a little bit of rush in there too.

Thanks for listening, GP. And of course I always enjoy/appreciate any kind of comments implying that I even remotely resemble RUSH.
