wahwah acoustic guitar thru the PODxt
Just mucking about with this guitar trying to get a nice tone and also play the bloody thing. Hard to get used to an acoustic neck if you don't play them often enough. Pleased with the tone for a cheapo tho...what do you reckon to the sound?
Edit...added the same file with eq added that 3fingers did for me...sounds a lot better. I think it's the compression that did most of the work.
Thanks Serge.

It's an 'Applause' made by Ovation. It buzzes here and there but the electrics are pretty good on it.

It doesn't sound too bad, but I personally don't care for the sound of using onboard electronics only on acoustic, it sounds too processed for my ears. You should try micing it also, and mixing the two together.

Not that I know much about tone...but I like it Chris.
I have a Westfield in the same colour. I'm selling it. You should put a floyd on yours though

Yeah, I'm not sure myself...I just think it sounds far better than I expected. There's some chorus and reverb on so I know what you mean. The only problem with mic'ing is that it comes out as a one sided mono wav...haven't found a way except for fucking about with Cakewalk and changing it from stereo to mono and back again! This way is much easier...plug in and play!!!

Sounds pretty cool wah but i agree with rhythameen , I've tried many times going through my pod on an acoustic and it just never sounds right to my ears a bit too processed , mic it up i reckon ! but still quite a nice sound !
oh and cool playing too !

Chris. You know i have all the respect for you mate, so my opinion will not seem pointed. These are my thoughts though:
I think it could use some bass and mids. I would dump the chorus as my thoughts are it will sound processed keeping it. I have mic'd my acoustic with 2 SM-57's (one right off sound hole, the other about 18" or so away and have had good results). A 2:1 soft knee compression also will give it more projection and tightness imo.
What you played is awesome though!! Articulate, clear, and very smooth!!

Excellent playin here Chris !!! Sure cant fault that anywheres . Theres gotta be a way tho to run it thru a pod and it still have the rich full sound of the acoustic without gettin the processed tinny sound . When jpf and I did that collab I used my v-amp and ran thru that . I dint think it came out too bad . I do know its tuff to get it soundin good tho . Fun to mess with tho and I dont blame ya for bein lazy .... I actually dont care for mic'ing them either . Lazy too I guess hahahahaa . Anyways great playin and cept for the kinda tinny sound I dont mind it at all .

sounds cool m8
I've had an Applause for around 2 years m8,
nothing wrong with them
I love mine,
always wanted an Ovation, but thought I would try out the Applause b4 shelling out hundreds of pounds on a top model.
I am so happy with it that I decided I didnt need to spend the money on another model.
it sounds cool through a guitar port & the PODXT Live.
wicked piece of kit for the money.
nice playing by the way wah m8
stay cool
 Bully
