frozenfury indeed appears to be correct on this one. It would have to have confirmation from the boss of course, but it does seem to be that if you have added someone to your buddy list, then they will have a little "+" appended to their name.
No-one wants to be my friend, so I had no "+"'s on my screen, but I had a quick sneak on TopJimmy's and he had loads of the little blighters on there. But he'd got a little enthusiastic with one user:
rain++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i've got these symbols beside my name..."b@$+@^d"...i'm still trying to figure out what they mean...it almost looks like it spells something...i just thought i'd ask about the "+" symbol to start...

LOL - hehehe your a funny guy!
BTW - is that your red Marshall in that pic? If so - how did you get that signed by "the man"? I used to live in England and actually brough my amp to the factory for repairs, but Mr Marshall was not there the day I was there.  Bummer.

the marshall is actually orange...i've also got an "orange crush15r"...the marshall is one of only 50 produced worldwide...only 10 were allotted for canada...i've got one...i know where one more is...that must be awesome visiting the marshall factory...you've got to meet the legend before...you know...well...he's getting on in age if you know what i mean...

Jim Marshall is a thoroughly decent bloke. All the Music Fairs I have been to, he has been there mucking in and chating away. I really like the guy.
