A bit late to the thread but I guess it's never too late...

Let me take a step back and share with you my thoughts... feedback welcomed!!

I'd like to see the whole bootleg section better organized than it is today. The idea in the works is to have a G101 Bootleg Catalog which lives side-by-side the Forums... This catalog will be organized by Categories (Band/Artist? Year? Content type?) and it will be easy to post bootlegs, write reviews / comments, and rate them.

I think the above would make it easy to search and review all the Prince related stuff... And in addition, we would be happy to set a separate Prince forum to discuss additional Prince related stuff.

I'll be interested in your thoughts. And yes - we need Mods so GW and PFunk - Thanks for offering to chime-in.

In general, I think this is a great idea. The search function on G101 is pretty good, but there's so much stuff on here it can still be hard to track things down.

But as far as Prince stuff goes, wouldn't it make the job of the WS a whole lot easier if/when he finds this site?

The way I am seeing this is that the forums will be for discussion purposes though... not for posting copyrighted materials... As far as the catalog... I see it as a catalog of reference links to content... I don't think the catalog itself will hold the materials.

Thank U 4 responding. That sounds like a great idea 2 have the bootlegs more organized than they are at the moment, the only problem is, when I started this thread I was in a position that allowed me the free time 2 moderate any forum that U set up but as it took U some time 2 respond I am now moderating on another site. I am still an active member on 101 and look 4ward 2 any changes U make in the future.

On the G101 front, been here a few years now and a bit of organisation on the bootlegs would be great. I download live shows from loads of different artist and this feature would be very welcome.

i think it's lost its way here.
it used to all about music, learning, meeting folk and having a laugh.

now its just gone wierd and bootlegish and its not only me that says it..
still if google ad's are paying there way then why change it

we have a plan to make it a good place for guitarists and bootleggers... we think it is key to move the bootlegs off the forums and into the G101 Bootleg Catalog which we will be launching soon, and give the Guitarists more room and presence and ambiance... we have ideas on how to go about this and we are going to be looking for members to work with us on this as part of the Staff. Let me know if you'd be interested in helping out.
