Hello

As U may or may not have noticed in the past few months there
has been a large influx of Prince fans visiting U're site and
quite a community is beginning 2 develop. So I am writing 2 ask
if there would be any chance of having our own forum on the
site as the Eddie Van Halen fans do, even if it's tucked away
hidden in a corner somewhere.

I would like 2 propose myself as a possible moderator over this
forum. I am a 38 year old from Manchester UK, I have been playing
guitar since I was 16 and have been a Prince fan since 1988.
I have a good knowledge of Prince bootlegs and officially released
product and pride myself on being respectful, conscientious and fair.

I realize though with the advance of Websheriff throughout
the internet this may attract more attention than we need but
if it is at all possible I know many would benefit. It may even
be an idea 2 screen the people who would be allowed access 2 the
forum. Which I, and I'm sure anyone else, U may appoint as moderators
would be more than willing 2 do.

Please either PM me with U're response or post on this thread which
I will be checking regularly.

I'm not sure about this, worst case scenario is guitar-forum links popping up over at hq or org - so a prince forum might be a bad idea. Still, if a forum should be implemented, GW surely would be a good choice.

I totally see U're point and I know it would be a risk but it would be nice 2.

I think Prince, Led Zepplin, and Pink Floyd should have their own section since there are so many of those shows posted here.

OK, I have to say what I think.

This is a terrible idea.

I think people like the idea as it is pretty much risk free for the "admin". If this domain was owned and registered to, I don't know, Get Wild - I don't think it would even be a consideration.

I think the best thing to do would be to set up a proboards site or something like that if you want a prince-only section/forum. It's not fair on the people here to be put in the firing line and the prince fans to cut and run.

You all know the risks and I think you should take some if you want to upload and share prince bootlegs online.

Thats a fair enough.

Like I said from the outset this was just an idea, I know there are risks but, 2 be honest, all the people who would be taking those risks are taking them anyway. We all know that if Prince or Websheriff saw what we are doing here 2day, right now, they wouldn't be best pleased with the site administrators.

And offering myself as a moderator was as close as I can come 2 saying "If U are willing 2 do this, then I'll do it with U". Maybe it would offer me the opportunity of "Cut & run" but with my job and 6 kids I can barely afford food, never mind domains. So really, there's not much more I could do.

But then again with still no word from Admin, it doesn't look very likely anyway so with all due respect 2 what U are saying, at the end of the day, it's probably a mute point.

Whilst I appreciate this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion, I don't agree the idea itself is a 'terrible' one. A group within this forum is hardly likely to draw any more attention to this site than any it may have garnered already. It was intended only as a place to chat and concentrate the talk solely on Prince without getting in the way of other group interests.

We are all intellegent enough to know what we are doing on here and man enough to except responsibilty, but with the sheer volume of sites just like this one (not forgetting the hundreds of torrent sites) I don't expect the Web Sheriff to be knocking on my door any time soon.

I don't see anything wrong with bringing like minded fans together and offering a community to exchange stories, memories, favourite shows and the like.

Just an idea. And a fairly innocent request

And anyway, as Getwild said. It's probably a mute point now.
