From the secret avatar place where you have to know someone, and also know the special secret handshake and password.....................uhhmm, actually I just trolled the web till I found something I liked, and then in time honored tradition, swiped it for my own use.

Yeah, most of mine were found by mistake, or were funnies that were sent to me over the years.

Bear in mind that you can make any picture into an avatar. You just need to resize it so that it comes out as 80 pixels by 80 pixels. You can do this with Microsoft Photo Editor for example.
  • Open the picture that you would like to use as an avatar
  • Use the crop function (that dotted square button in the top menu)
  • Drag over an area that makes out a perfect square (look at the dimensions show in the toolbar) this is so that the image won't distort when you resize it to 80x80 pixels
  • Crop the area youy have selected (Select Image -> Crop)
  • Then select Image -> Resize to resize
  • Select Pixels as the units
  • Then select 80x80
  • Select File -> Save As and save your new avatar under a new name so you don't overwrite your original picture
  • Upload your avatar so we can all enjoy !!!

There are also a few people on here that are gifted enough to make their own custom avatars. I couldn't tell you how they do that though.

That said, I'd love to go to the place where Sunnie found her avatar !!!

I tend to like to make my own (but then again, I am a graphic artist by trade and that's the kind of stuff I do at work anyway). I would be happy to help you out with one if you found some images that you liked or had an idea for one (nothing too complex or time-consuming though, as I'd rather be jamming than doing artwork). PM me if interested.
