Covers and Originals Forum
Is there any way we can increase the number of posts that show up in the Music forums so that new music is not as easily bumped to the dreaded second page? With so many people contributing to the Covers and Originals forums, many posts go unnoticed.

I hate the idea of splitting covers and tributes but I sometimes wonder if dividing them into instrumentals and vocal tunes might help a little.

ive seen many of my own tunes drift all too quickly onto the 2nd then 3rd pages. theres alot of activity going on from the 20'000+ members of this board so it doesnt really surprise me.
i like the idea of splitting it into vocal and instrumental sub forums for each category (originals & Covers) .
For once i find myself agreeing with EJ on something. Too much good stuff gets bumped to the 2nd page onwards all too quickly and doesnt get enough attention.

My thoughts are along the lines of Goport. I would not like to see them split up. My 2 cents.

How about not splitting them and having the forumites not post more than one cover a week? That should help. I've seen people post as many as 5-6 tunes in one shot. No wonder others' post drift right to page two. I have gotten to posts late cuz I didn't see them when they were fresh from the oven.

You can select to view up to 40 posts per page via Options in the User CP. It does help some.

I also agree with Goport ....wouldn't want to split by tributes and covers however maybe a vocal section would be needed as a sub forum.

Sting has a good point: Eliminate the flooding that some guys do. Cranking these things out every 10 minutes isn't that impressive anyway, but bothersome becuase it is annoying.

That's also a good point EJ and Stingx. The idea is to be fair to the members which make up the site. More feedback please guys.

I am in agreement with the fact that something should be done to allow post's to remain current to the board for more than, in some cases, a day!!! I kinda lean in the direction of a separate page for "songs with vocals".......This would, to my mind, spread it out a bit, and give all the great posts a chance to be heard.

But the majority of tunage is with vocals I beleive... So the problem won't really be fixed.

Seriously, if all the members that post just excersized a little self-control with the posting, this issue will become moot. Sure you get a few newcomers that drop a tune in there but the bulk is from the usual suspects

who are these people who are posting 6 songs at a time. Just have a word with them whoever they are. Another way would be to get the mods working a little harder rather than sitting in the cyber gay bar all day and clear any songs after 10 days or 2 weeks. Something along those lines
