I can confirm that it is. I am currently pimping the pictures !!!

Another way to do this is to use Microsoft Photo Editor, assuming you have XP and it's embedded in that operating system.

For me to do it :
  • Select Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office Tools
  • In the application, select File -> Open
  • Browse for the file that you want to resize
  • Once it is in there, select Image -> Resize
  • Change the units to Pixels
  • Change the width and height to be less than or equal to 80 pixels
  • NB - If the dimensions were not equal (i.e. the picture was not a square to start off with) then setting both sizes to 80 will cause distrotion
  • Select file -> save as and save the file WITH A DIFFERENT FILE NAME (e.g. original_SMALL.gif)
And there ya have it.

If you don't know if you have Microsoft Photo Editor installed, then
  • open up Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E).
  • Browse to the file that you want to resize.
  • Left click on the file to highlight it
  • Hold down the shift key, and right cick on the file whilst it is highlighted
  • Select Open with -> Choose program from the menu
  • Scroll down to see if PHOTOED is in the list
  • If it is, open with PHOTOED and then go to the 4th bullet point above
This operation can be done using other image applications (Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, etc.,etc.). The commands should be similar.
