Image Changes

There's a reason I changed the images, ELVH inc. (Ed's Attorney's) wrote me and told me that I had to sign their agreement if I want to use their logos on my site. I did agree and signed it, giving me the legal right to do so. I personally don't like this in the least, first of all we really have no VH content other than boots and the site carries the name, aside from this it's basically a music/general chat site. IMO Ed, sitting around not making music and worrying more about the VH logo's is just plain stupid, besides it's not the direction I want to go.

Right, I am not putting up any ads or anything like that. My entire goal was and still is just a place where we can hang and do our thing.

Yeah, good effort Eric. If anything, I think that the new logo's make the site look a lot more professional, and merge well with the look and feel of the site. i.e. they don't stick out like a sore thumb like the previous logos used to do !

Thanks, In Wolf's defense we collaberated on that image and at the time we weren't sure of the theme we were going to use so we thought it would work as a good all around logo. He's the man when it comes to making that sort of thing, I can only do straight lines and copy/paste stuff.

You did agree and you put the VH-logos off.... Paradox to me....

2nd: You did sign and was there an invoice connected to it? Or was the contract about the use of the logo (use of color, size and other prescriptions)?

I would love to be able to do this sort of stuff, amd I have the programs and 't got round to spending time learning it !!!

I signed it because I had to in order to use the logo, I wasn't thrilled about it. The contract basically said that I need their permission for the VH logo in any way, shape or form on this site (or any fan site). Also it had a bunch of legal jargon regarding selling VH stuff etc. which doesn't matter because I am not doing that.

I knew that eventually I would be getting rid of the VH logo but it can't hurt to have their permission just in case people use it in posts or whatever. The most important thing here is that I don't want this site to be be perceived as a VH site only, I would like it to be thought of as a bit broader than that.

Update:
In order to complete my license agreement I was emailed by ELVH inc. and asked to put the disclaimer on the site, here is my response:

I will no longer need this as I have removed all VH related images from my
site, if I should add them back in the future I will place the License
agreement on the bottom.

I hope that eventually Ed will start playing music instead of worrying about
little sites like mine that only enjoy what Van Halen has given us and
sharing it with others.
