Important - New Attachment Limits - Guitars101

Everyone now has a 9 meg limit on attachments, this will start now and everything you have uploaded in the past is not counted.

There is a new link at the top View My Files that will allow you to remove previous attachments, remember that if you remove anything prior to today it won't count as a deduction so you mine as well leave it. All new files will be counted starting today.

Remember that it only counts for new stuff, anything posted prior to today doesn't count towards your limit and deleting it will make no difference. So today you start at fresh at zero, regardless of what it says under View My Files [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

At the moment we are working out a couple of things with this, the new way WILL require you to remove existing attachments if you are over your quota. I will update as soon as we get it dialed in.

whats FH gonna do about all his pics in babe section..that would be fair if he got special treatment over us...sorry FH ..just sticking up for the rest of us..

FH links almost all of his pics in there so it won't make much difference for him. Even if he did upload them, he would get extra for all the work he puts into that forum [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I wouldn't just yet Stiglar. We are still getting things worked out, I just removed that part that will restrict you until then.

Also, I am not out to get anyone here. Running this site is not cheap so I have to come up with limitations. I will try to make this as fair to everyone as possible, the down side is that sacrifices will need to be made on older attachments.

When I posted my last message recently, I got told in the preview screen that I couldn't add an attachment, as I was over my quota.

I didn't want to add an attachment at that time, and usually I link them in form my own site.

However, these were all old files, and so it seemed that they were getting included in the quota, even though you said they wouldn't (I think, although I may be getting confoozed again).

I haven't got a problem with this, as I just went and deleted all the boots that I had uploaded (unlucky leechers - heh heh heh [img]images/smilies/icon_lol.gif[/img]), and a couple of pictures that were used to display something stupid was doing on the site !

Good work ericgtr, I can understand why you're doing this, so I will help in whatever way I can ! I'll link from my site whenever possible...

Yeah, we thought it best to start from zero on this after all. So all the files that have been previously uploaded will also be counted. Here is the screenshot that I posted in the MP3 forums. I decided to make the default 10 megs.
