No more backing tracks
We have removed the ability to sign up for new memberships and all references to backing tracks. Members who have already subscribed will still be able to access the BT area for one year, after which it too will be pulled, permanently.
This means that normal users will no longer have access to backing tracks at all. Due to copyright laws and the growth of this site it makes it nearly impossible to keep track of them. Worse case, this site would be closed permanently and I could get sued.
To all of those who have taken the time to share your BT's we greatly appreciate your time and effort, I apologize to you directly for making this change and ask that you understand my delima here.
For those of you who would like to legally purchase backing tracks http://www.licklibrary.com has a great selection and some freebies as well.

What happened?
Hi,
Not that you should give us an explanation, but I was wondering:
Is this because of legal issues (copyright)?

That's exaclty what it's about, in a forum community where they are freely shared (at the rate they are here) it's nearly impossible to monitor and keep track of them all to keep copyrighted songs from getting in.

What you guys do outside of this site (or between two members) is your own business, I have no control over that

You should set up a forum section where people could somewhat request a backing track and whoever has it could personally upload it through email to that person.

Hey,, you dont have to apologize Eric. I totally understand and I know what ya mean man. I am just glad this site is still up and goin' and all and that we are able to post our music and our covers. I hope they wont stop us from doin that too. Then I would go nuts. music is my life outside of work and it relieves stress from a long day at work. Sad that the dam legal issue stuff can force things like that, but like you said,, its hard to keep track of all those backings!
